Walking about the garden to water and train some Loofah vines, I noticed this butterfly checking out the spread of bright blossoming flowers excitedly drinking from the sun's abundant light. For just a few seconds, it all but checked out, landed, and then departed, a little loofah flower who got to be its solace for just a Summer's second...
Sunlight Solace, a Botanical Photo

"...hanging aloft this swaying blossom..."
Carpenter bees honey bees and an occassional wasp are the main pollinating guests who regularly bar hop at the local Loofah Garden here in the neighborhood. So when I stepped out my door and spotted this Black Swallowtail flittering about, I had a sudden suspicion that it just might also stop in for a few samples of the goodness found within these flowers.
I grabbed my iPhone 12 because it was the nearest thing, grabbed a footstool to reach up through the elevated trellis frame, and hoped that any of the shots I took while this magical creature just for seconds, hung aloft this swaying blossom... I hoped at least one would be clear of the overhead sun's bleaching rays...
Solace because, what else could a creature that's so beautiful and such short lived, and so defenseless in this world, truly want? To experience it getting just a moment to rest on this cushy Loofah flower, gave me a feeling that it has a place in the garden it can rest, for its whole life!
